Terms of Service
The agreement for using MockRun: your account, practice packs and question credits, payment, fair use, and what AI feedback can and can’t promise.
MockRun is in beta. Invited testers practice free, and checkout is a test: no real payment is taken. The parts about paying apply once paid practice starts.
Who we are and these terms
MockRun is run by Ftw-labs, Tuam, Co. Galway, Ireland (“MockRun”, “we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and us. You can reach us at support@ftw-labs.com.
By creating an account or using MockRun, you agree to these terms, the Refund policy and the Privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use MockRun. You must be at least 18 years old to use it.
What MockRun is
MockRun is a practice tool for behavioral interviews, the “Tell me about a time…” questions. An AI interviewer asks you a question, follows up on what you said one question at a time, and then gives you written feedback. You can answer out loud or by typing.
MockRun is for practice. It isn’t a real interview, an assessment by any employer, or career, legal or other professional advice.
No promise of interview results
Practice can help you prepare, but we can’t promise any interview result, job offer or hiring decision. Transcripts of spoken answers, feedback, ratings and practice verdicts come from AI. They can be wrong, incomplete or different from one attempt to the next, and they aren’t the view of any employer. Use your own judgment.
Independent of the companies we name
MockRun is an independent practice tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Apple or Netflix. Company names are used only to describe the interviews you can practice for.
Practice questions are grouped by Amazon’s Leadership Principles, one of the most complete public lists of what these questions look for. Company names and trademarks belong to their owners.
Your account
- You need an account to practice and to buy practice packs. Sign-in is provided by Clerk.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You’re responsible for what happens in your account, and an account is for one person.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page. The Privacy policy says what is deleted and what is kept.
Practice packs and question credits
- Practice is sold in one-time packs of question credits. There’s no subscription. The 90-minute pack has 9 question credits, and the 5-hour pack has 30.
- Each credit covers one question attempt: around 10 minutes of interview practice with follow-ups, plus written feedback on what worked and what to improve.
- When you start a practice, we hold one credit for each question in it. Only questions you answer use a credit; credits for the others come back when the practice ends. A question you skip without answering, or answer only with words like “Um” or “Okay”, uses no credit.
- Trying a question again uses another credit.
- A practice ends when you finish it, when you start a new one, or when its time to finish runs out. Setup shows that time before you start. The questions you answered are then reviewed and use their credits.
- If the review of an answered question can’t be finished, its credit comes back to your MockRun account by itself. The Refund policy says when, and how to ask for money back.
- How long credits last: they don’t expire.
- Credits have no cash value. They can’t be moved to another account or exchanged for money, except as a refund under the Refund policy.
- After you delete your account, its unused credits can’t be used. To ask about a refund for them, email us before you delete it.
Prices, payment and who sells to you
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders.
Paddle takes your payment, handles sales tax and VAT, and sends your receipt. Paddle’s buyer terms also apply to your purchase. MockRun never sees your full card number and doesn’t store your card details.
Prices are on the practice packs page. Checkout shows your total, including any tax, before you pay. Credits are added to your account once Paddle confirms the payment.
Limits that keep MockRun running
We don’t limit how much one person practices each day.
Each practice has its own limits, shown in setup before you start: one practice open at a time, a time to finish it, and up to 15 minutes of voice connection for each question in it.
To keep its own AI costs under control, MockRun also limits how much AI the whole service uses each day, counted in UTC. When MockRun is busy or close to that daily limit, a new practice may not start; nothing is charged for a practice that doesn’t start. Feedback already underway may pause until 00:00 UTC. You can try it again then, and if it still hasn’t finished 24 hours after it first paused, its credit comes back.
Using MockRun fairly
Use MockRun to practice for interviews. Please don’t:
- share information you don’t have the right to share, such as confidential details about an employer, a customer or another person (use anonymized examples where you can);
- say or type anything unlawful, threatening, hateful or harassing, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights;
- try to get around credits, limits, sign-in or security, or to reach another person’s account or practice;
- automate practices, sign-in or account actions with bots or scripts;
- copy, resell or republish MockRun’s questions, guides or other content (your own answers and feedback are yours to share);
- reverse-engineer MockRun, or use it to build a competing product;
- use MockRun in a way that breaks the law or the usage policies of OpenAI, the AI provider MockRun uses.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, doesn’t pay, or puts MockRun or other people at risk. Where we can, we’ll email you first to say why. If we close your account when you haven’t broken these terms, we’ll refund the credits you haven’t used.
Your answers and our content
Your answers, transcripts and notes are yours. You let us use them only to run MockRun for you: to run the interview, write your feedback, save your practice, and keep the service working and safe. The Privacy policy explains how OpenAI handles it.
MockRun’s software, questions, guides and design belong to us or to the people we license them from. You may use your own feedback however you like.
Availability and changes to MockRun
We work to keep MockRun running, but we can’t promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. Voice practice depends on your browser, microphone and connection. If voice stops partway through a practice, you can continue by typing.
We may change, add or remove features. If we stop offering MockRun, we’ll tell you in advance and refund the credits you haven’t used.
Our responsibility to you
MockRun is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as a missed job offer or lost earnings, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for MockRun in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer where you live.
If you break these terms or the law while using MockRun and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law allows.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version will appear on this page with a new date. If a change affects how you use or pay for MockRun, we’ll email you before it applies. If you keep using MockRun after that, the new terms apply to you.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland handle any dispute. If you’re a consumer living elsewhere in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of your own country’s consumer law and can also bring a claim in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please email us first and we’ll try to put it right. You can’t transfer your account or these terms to someone else. We may transfer them to a company that takes over MockRun, and we’ll tell you if that happens.
